Oh. good point. Well, as it turns out, my mom has both sleep apnea AND narcolepsy, but it never even occurred to her to ask for a stimulant until a relative was prescribed modafinil for cancer-related fatigue. Her GP didn't ask any questions, wrote a Rx on the spot.
I feel like (duh). I'm sorry- I was being thoughtless, and you're right. One shouldn't lie to a MD about symptoms only to get a prescription. I'm just thinking that it might be better to work with a new pdoc, rather than get one's (Rx) meds without a prescription, no matter how legitimate the source.
