Well, that really stinks. Despite my adverse experience with it, I have seen a video demonstrating the effectiveness of sibutramine (Meridia) in the treatment of FMS on actual patients. The doctor who advocates its use here is Peter Mueller, MD in Princeton, NJ. On a simplistic level, it is an SNRI like Effexor or Cymbalta (both of which I'm sure you've explored). It does separate itself from those two drugs pharmacologically, though. One person who responded favorably showed dramatic improvements in pain and trigger points, energy, cognition, and depressed mood and dysphoria.
