That's interesting. I've never heard that.
My diurnal pattern is kind of weird. My best time is in the morning. My worst time is in the middle of the afternoon - around 2:00 PM. I then recover somewhat in the evening. Presumably, I have bipolar disorder. I suffer chronic depression with drug-induced manic episodes.
With endogenous/melancholic depression, there is usually early morning awakenings and insomnia along with the morning worsenings.
