There's always hope, even if you can't see it. And its not a disease -- you can't take some penicillin and get rid of it.

If it's been with you so long, you're feeling bad because your genes and probably your "environment" have conspired against you and probably even got you working for them against yourself. That's why you need allies -- to take the fight back to them.

Meds can help. They fight your genes for you. Talk therapy can help. That helps you fight your environment and even can help identify what meds you need. The two of them together can help you get back on your feet and do some fighting of your own.

Your down days aren't going to disappear. But yeah, the idea is to be able to be steady, to experience regular highs and regular lows, but be pretty even overall. And to have that line where "pretty even" is get better and better as best you can.

And yes, to answer your question, I can. Most of the time I can do better than that. Some of the time I can't. But most of the time I can. And that's a Very Good Thing (tm).
