Rani,

If you have bipolar, taking an antidepressant alone can make you have mood swings which you are describing. With bipolar, you need to also take a mood stabalizer (i.e.lamictal, Depakote) with the AD to even out your moods. This sounds like what is going on. The AD alone has gotten you out of a depression but has caused your mood to go beyond what would be considered a euthymic (balanced) mood. This will happen when taking just an AD when you have bipolar and not just depression.

I suppose you will be started on a mood stabalizer, along with an AD.
