Xanax scripted, ~4mgs daily-lomg term, Problems?

This med has saved my life, however, being benzo tolerant, and needing aroung this dose, i was worred when looking at the PDR guidelines:

Dosage Anxiety disorders up to 4.5mgs daily.

PRECAUTIONIONS:

High doses, prolonged use, abrupt withdrawal.

I know Xanax lasts 3
-5 hours per dose, so i have Clonazepam for 12 hour cover and xanax for breakthrough attacks.

I have read of folks using Xanax for 10+years successfully, without ever increasing doses.
