Hi,
I'm going through the same thing now. I started Nardil again, on my own, several months ago from the stash I had from the last time I tried giving it up. My MD prescribed trials of Wellbutrin then nortriptyline; they did nothing for me, so I was forced to start back on Nardil to avoid the really black hole. I was on 90mg for a month or so and starting to feel better, when I had to cut back to 60mg because of a shortage of supply. My MD is on vacation until the 21st of July so I'm trying to get by on reduced dosage until I can see him then. I know from experience that the other MDs in his practice won't touch the stuff, so I'm forced to go with less than optimal dosage for several weeks. I can feel the depression returning but I have enough Nardil so that I won't have to go completely without like you did.I can't really answer your question other than guessing it may take up to a month to recover the full effect of the med. Nobody really knows exactly how these things work. Phenelzine has been studied for 50 years and we still don't know the complete mechanism of action. For both our sakes, I hope the antidepressant effects start sooner, rather than later.
Good Luck,
Jedi
