I'm not sure exactly how to word it with the doctor, but maybe to mention that you've heard there are other kinds of mania that do not involve euphoria and feeling on top of the world. Some forms of mania are quite uncomfortable and can feel like you are going 1000 miles per hour inside.
You could complete 3 tests all in less than month to get some better clues as to what is going on. First, depakote extended release 500mg to 1500mg for 1 1/2 weeks. Lithium for 2 weeks. And finally increase the klonopin dose. Somewhere in these tests you and your doctor will gain some strong clues as to what is or what isn't anxiety.
Keep in mind too that the seroquel itself could be a major contributing factor. Whether it is the strong norepinephrine releasing component of it, or whether it is akathisia, seroquel could be guilty. Just because it is an atypical AP, and just because akathisia is less than older APs, the statistics show that about 10% of people still get akathisia from it. Akathisia feels a whole lot like intense severe anxiety.
Hopefully your doctor will be sharp enough to pick up on what is going on. This all must be so darn frustrating for you. I worry about you. I wish you a very successful meeting with you doctor. If he tries to just say your anxiety isn't under control, I would do or say whatever possible to let him know you are not convinced it is merely anxiety...because if it was, the meds and doses you are taking would have had a much more significant impact on it.
