Luckily, Parnate never causes any acne with me, but the BC pill did. It also worsened my depression, so please be careful with them. Even the very low doses made me depressed, so I cannot take the pill.
Accutane causes severe depression. I found that out when it first came out and was not widely known. Fortunately, it got rid of my acne and then I was able to help the depression by going back on Parnate (again).
I've never abused Parnate and was not aware it was possible, but the withdrawal is pure hell. I really want to try Emsam, but I cannot go off Parnate again. I tried oral Selegiline, and it wasn't working that well so I went straight back to Parnate. I have no idea why you can't go from Parnate to the patch. It seems stupid to me.
Good luck with your treatments. I hope you get the acne under control. I know how terrible it can make you feel.
