> I tried Luvox for only one day, and felt weird. Does it work, because I've tried just about everything else, and on Remeron and Wellbutrin, I had the worst OCD I've ever had, where, when I'd take a walk, I had to read off the license plate of every car I saw. Since I live in L.A., you can imagine how time consuming this would be.
Yes -- at least for me, it stopped me obsessing about meds 16 hours a day and my condition, a sort of OCD over an Somatiform/OC like disorder, circular in a way. I found it the most effective of SSRIs I tried for OCD, perhaps because it is also the most sedating and least anxiety provoking. For serious cases or people like me who metabolize things like crazy, you have to go above the recommended 300 to 400 or 450 if can be tolerated. That of course is up to your doctor. The medication has a wide dosage range. But one day definately isn't enough. The half life isn't even there. It is guaranteed with any SSRIs that you will feel "wierd" or something the first time, because of transmitter adjustments. One has to stick it out a little more, several weeks to a month at least, I mean, unless one has a serious/allergic reaction to a drug or the like.
