In reply to Lyrica (pregabalin) for GAD approved in Europe, posted by SLS on April 13, 2006, at 8:20:01
So, what are the key differences between Pregabalin and Gabapentin?
Pro's and Con's; - Lyrica vs Neuronitn for anxiety with/without pre-existing mental disorders eg Bipolar disorder. Has Gabapentin got more value in use with anxiety associated with bipolar compared with Lyrica? (Even though Gabapentins value isn't too high anyway) Its it too early to know? Anyone have personal experience?
Anyone like to add any comments? I know little about the differences but have had my eye on Lyrica for a while now. I take Neurontin, for anxiety and bipolar and like the drug very much, perhaps for that reason theres no need to change it. Plus with the addition of Valium I think my anxiety will be well under control. However sometimes I feel Neurontin can lack power. Therefore lyrica being a more powerful substance, at some stage I may try it.
Would one have less side effects, theoretically, compared to the other?
What are the dosage equivalents? 300mg of Gabapentin = ?
