> For years (9)I have been on effexor.(300mg) with fairly good results until it started to lose some of its effectiveness. Now I am on effexor 225mg, welbutrin 150mg.& lexapro 5mg. I feel pretty good, but the 1 big change I have noticed is that my night time binge eating has all but stopped. When I was on the higher dose of Effexor no matter how hard I tried I would eat at night uncontrolably(Carbs mostly). I also seem to be sleeping a little better. I still struggle with anxiety-stress during the day. I feel as though I need something all the time for that. I have klonopin, and take it (.5mg) 2-3 times a week. I feel like I need somthing all the time for the anxiety and stress, but am concerned about addiction. My Pdoc says I should not be overly concerned about it, but he does seem very cautious about prescribing it. I do not think he comprehends the intensity of the anxiety-stress I am experiencing or does not have an answer, any suggestions

> RayHi Ray,
Just a thought. It's possible that the Wellbutrin is increasing your anxiety. When I switched from Effexor to Wellbutrin I about freaked out.
Also, for some people SNRIs like Effexor or Cymbalta can actually increase anxiety. Some of us don't do well on SSRIs or SNRIs even though they are often prescribed specifically for anxiety. I got way more anxious on Lexapro, for example. You might do better on a tricyclic.
