My ADD daughter is intolerant to the anxiety causing side effects of psychostimulants. She used Provigil added to Lexapro (for anxiety). Provigil helped attention insofar as it helped with the cognitive "fuzz" and sleepiness caused by Lexapro. But compared to the stimulants, it causes more wakefulness/alertness rather than specifically helping attention. She is now on Zoloft which does not cause the cognitive side effects in her, with Seroquel augmenting it. We are about to try adding a bit of Provigil again to see if it will help with attention. Frankly, I'm not expecting much effect on attention, but we'll see.
The other poster was right that there have been threads on this forum about Provigil used for ADD/ADHD. I recall a couple of posters who mentioned the same thing as I said above: helped with alertness more than attention. But everyone is different.
The side effect profile of Provigil was good. Some headaches the first week or two, but after that not much.

He said this is a narcoleptic drug but may actually at some point be officially approved for use as an ADD drug. Has anybody tried Provigil for this? Experiences? Or has anybody at least heard anything more than what I have.
