MAOI and hypertension episodes: recommendations?

Hello everyone,
I am looking for current information/recommendations on the following:
1) medication to carry with me in case of hypertension episode (I've seen various mentioned, not sure what is currently recommended, has/has not been useful to people.)
2) accurate automatic blood pressure kit
If it makes a difference, I live in the states.
