Dear all,
I started selegiline at a very low-dose (2.5 mg) about four weeks ago. I take my dose when I wake up and have noticed this odd pattern. I tend to get sleepy after taking selegiline and this peaks about 5 hours later, after which I become progressively more and more alert.
I'm a little perplexed. I wonder if this means that the pro-dopamine effect is actually relaxing for me, but then eventually the norepinephrinetic effects of the metabolites kick in the counterbalance this. I've read some posts by KaraS indicating a similar pattern of response, but has anyone else had an experience like this?
Also, I'm thinking about moving the dose to bedtime. I suppose the only way to know if this is helpful is to try it, but has anyone tried late-day dosing of selegiline? If so, how did this affect your sleep?
Thanks for the input.
Best,
