I totally understand. You asked about pudendal nerve neuropathy. Mine's the ulnar nerve. I take oxycontin and Percocet and nortriptyline and clonazepam and I'm adding in a drug that could get me 5-20 in your country, because I just can't take it any more. I've been between the rock and the hard place for so long I feel like a watermelon seed about to be launched. Not much of Lar going on.

Sorry, I thought you wanted to discuss the pudendal nerve. It's a pretty rare injury you have. Mine's a little bit more run of the mill.

Seriously, if you can get some relief from the nerve block, it can start reversing the neuropathy. It can start to fade. It can begin to break the vicious cycle. Besides that, if it works, it feels good for a while.

And, I don't remember.....did you mention Neurontin or Lyrica? Both drugs have the ability to interrupt the nerve cross-talk at the level of the spinal cord that is believed to maintain the neuropathic pain when no concurrent stimulus actually exists which could be triggering the pain sensation. Lyrica is supposed to be a better drug for two reasons. It more specifically hits the alpha-adrenergic delta-2 receptors (it's five in the morning and I haven't slept a wink, so nobody rag on me if I didn't get that detail perfect, please) that is supposed to be the bad guy in this feedback of pain. The other thing is Lyrica blood concentration is linear with dose. What that means is you can control the blood concentration much much better than with Neurontin.

Hang in there, ker. It's only a few days until you get that nerve block.
