epilim (sodium valporate)andAropax(prozac)

Posted by arina on November 28, 2005, at 3:28:41

2 years ago my partner of 16 years and me broke up.He suffered severe major depression and desperate for help saw a psyciatrist. She diagnosed him PTSD like countless others had, then put him on epilim and aropax.Previously he was crying nonstop but the tears soon stopped and he turned into a zombie with an out of character bad temper. After just 4 weeks he had nutted, cut himself, overdosed on his drugs + panadol, walked along the train tracks and into traffic, with a photo of me and the kids in his hands.Admited to psych ward he was severly tripping on the pill OD.They put him on 800mg seroquel,9mg risperidone plus clonanzepam whenever he wanted it,and citalopram. He was so drugged up they had to walk him everywhere he couldnt open his eyes and he started hallucinating and having constant nightmares and became fearfull and still extremely suicidal. He has heard voices ever since and was diagnosed schizophrenic but Iv never brought that diagnosis because I know he was ok previously before the drugs and was suffering major depression and possibly bipolar.Hes been off the drugs a year now and man what an improvment, anyone else had any similar experiences like this?Im from NZ and I believe theres alot of overmedicating, misdiagnosing and cover ups going on here.Anyone else?
