In addition to D-2 antagonism, BuSpar's metabolite (1-PP) acts as an alpha-2 antagonist. Both could lead to unease. The D-2 antagonism would be like the traditional neuroleptic akathisia, while the alpha-2 antagonism could increase anxiety.
