Hi Tom,
>My main symptom is a very blocked nose, all the time, its very annoying when I'm trying to sleep.
I imagine an anti-hystamine would work for my symptomsI don't think Beconase will interact with Marplan. Even so, here are some points.......
*Steroid nasal sprays are the most effective treatment for congestion (blocked nose).
*Antihistamines, both tablets and nasal sprays, can relieve a runny nose, nasal itching and sneezing. They are not very effective for nasal congestion.
*Sodium cromoglicate nasal spray (Rynacrom etc)is sometimes effective in relieving mild/moderate symptoms of allergic rhinitis. It is not as effective as Beconase.
*Ipratropium bromide nasal spray (Rinatec) can relieve a runny nose......... but usually not congestion.
*Montelukast (Singulair) tablets are similarly effective to antihistamine tablets.
*All decongestant nasal sprays are contra-indicated with MAOIs.... so I haven't listed any.
Kind regards
~Ed
