Hi,
Sorry i'm no expert....but in the mean time....As you would be able to ascertain from my own posts to others on this forum I have been seeking answers for my own son who has depression and OCD. the two are a hard mix.
I know that when my son is depressed his OCD locks onto the depressed thoughts and then he becomes even more anxious/agitated
When his depression is controlled he is only left with the OCD to try and work through (the word "only" is used very loosely here!!!)once your depression is controlled then it may be that a higher dose of Prozac (eventually - take the increases slowly and give them time for side effects to diminish)will be needed to finally take on the OCD symptoms
OCD is very resistant and I have (through research and questions) ascertained that you need to be on the optimum dose (always higher for OCD) for at least 3 mths before it starts to address the OCD (if the depression remains controlled you are half way there).
