i have add which is responsive to amphetamines -- i recently switched to adderall (regular, generic) from provigil (due to expense). it's nice that there is a wide variety of different tablet strengths with adderall and the tablets are scored well for splitting -- how is generic dexedrine supplied (different strengths, tablets vs. caps, etc.)? are the tabs scored as well? would someone mind giving me the same info for generic desoxyn? i'd also like to know what the duration of action is for the various types. are these the basic 'big three" amphetamine choices for add? desoxyn doesn't seem to get much attenion anymore.....is there a reason for this neglect?
is ritalin not classified as a amphetamine? does it behave much the same as the meds listed above?
has anyone tried cylert? i realize that there are liver warnings issued about it now, and its long-lasting effect might case insomnia, but it almost sounds like a "poor man's provigil" which might be ok -- plus it's available as a generic.
which add med seems to have the most positive impact on mood? my experience has been that the two things i've tried (provigil, adderall) correct my add symptoms but do nothing to improve mood. i suppose they're not really designed to, but if there's a parallel product that helps in that regard, i'd sure like to know about it. i'm fairly determoned at this point to stick with generics wherever possible, after the wallet-emptying experience with provigil.
i am just starting to research add drugs which is why i have so many questions......thanks for your attention,
stan
