Add-on meds for weight loss

Adding meds to some drugs to prevent weight gain/cause weight loss seems to be getting kinda popular. For a while, Meridia was kind of popular...unfortunately, it really doesn't seem to have any real advantage over the old school diet pills (weaker ones like phentermine, phendimetrazine), so that kinda sucks. The topomax idea is cool, except I'd worry about being drugged into oblivion...topomax has a "rep" for making people dumb (hence the nickname, "dopo-max"). A friend of mine took phentermine before, during, and after taking low-dose Zyprexa with an SSRI (this was pre-symbyax). She actually managed to *lose* weight and keep it off, and she wasn't as sluggish as people usually get on Zyprexa.
