I think the taste comes from the drug in systemic blood concentrations. I've tried washing the pill down with so much other water and food that I'm sure it didn't come in contact with my tongue. Each time I notice the onset of the taste as it is absorbed into the bloodstream. So now I guess the question is what can we take that will mask the taste when applied to the tongue because if you stop it from systemicly going to the tongue then the drug probably won't be theraputic.
