hey! I used to take klonopin in varying doses, from 1mg a day up to 4mgs a day with additional ativan. As benzos go, it seems pretty bad in flattening out mood, causing depression, etc. Keep in mind that until recently it was used primarily for seizure disorders, and wasn't terribly popular for anxiety. You might want to talk to your doctor...there are other long-lasting benzos that dont dampen mood or cognition as much. I personally like Tranxene; Librium is pretty good too, although it seems to have more side effects for a lot of people than some other benzos. Valium is a good drug, although it kind of has a bad rep, so lots of docs won't RX it. If you're taking Klonopin only as needed and just want short term anxiety relief, you might be better served by going with Ativan (I prefer it to xanax, but xanax may be just the thing for you).
