Buspar any good for mild OCD and anxiety?

Posted by jerimycoplo on July 20, 2005, at 5:20:11

I was wondering if anyone with mild OCD and social phobia has tried buspar. it seems to me like it it a highly selective SSRI (only 5ht1a)
and it does not have as many side effects as paxil or luvox. less sexual side effects and sleepiness which were my main probs with small doses of any of the other ssri's. my question:
has anyone found it good for ocd at all or social anxiety? also i know it hits some dopamine pathways, how do you guys think it makes it more or less efficnet for ocd .anxiety?
does it lower anxiety while hightening dopamine thus making you more dominant...or confident?

any comments welcome
thanks
jc
