I have no experience re: TMS. However...I doubt it is true about insurance companies and ECT although again I'm no expert on insurance matters. I do know from what I read and am told by docs that since ECT is 80-90% effective it would likely be the treatment of first choice if not for 1) the stigma, and 2) the inherent anesthesia risk associated with all surgical procedures.
