I think that it was a gradual release from the pain. It seemed as if the pain receded from the inside out. I believe that it was about 6 weeks before the pain level was down to a point where it really made a substantial difference. After that, this is hard to describe, but I could still 'feel' where the pain had been. It was as if all my nerve endings were still jittery, but the pain itself had dissipated. Now, I rarely have that kind of pain. I broke both feet, ankles, toes a few years ago and still have the stiffness and residual pain from that accident, but the constant 'hurt everywhere' pain that my doctor diagnosed as fibromyalgia is gone. It makes life much easier and so much more pleasant! For the first time I go to bed at night being content that I will be alive in the morning instead of wondering how long I can live like this. Try the Cymbalta for a while longer. The 60 mg is working for me.
