I am ignorant of this formula. To follow it would place me at 60mg and not at the 80mg I need to get the full effect. I wish I could say that my case was typical and representative of the mainstream, but it isn't. However, after being on and off Parnate for 23 years, I have gleaned much about its usage from the doctors I have seen and from my personal experience with this drug. I think you will find that with Parnate, only a clinical titration will give you the answer to the question, "how much does the individual patient need". The doctors I have seen in the past who are experienced with MAOIs and not bashful about using them indicate that it is often necessary to go beyond 60mg to achieve remission. 40-80mg seems to be a more realistic range of dosages when treating severe depression than what the PDR would indicate.
