Jay Amsterdam, MD at the University of Pennsylvania has used high-dosage Parnate (tranylcypromine) for many years in treatment resistant cases:

Personally, I think the "normal" range of Parnate should lie between 40-80mg. 40mg is the minimum that people with severe or resistant depression tend to respond to. I need 60mg to get any kind of relief and 80mg to optimize it.
