I believe that 800mg/day is the maximum theraputic dose. Which means that you won't get any additional benefits from any additional mg/day. Whatever effect you get at 800mg is the most effect you can get from the drug.

Your dose is high, but is certainly not that uncommon. If it works for you, keep with it.
