Several years ago, Welbutrin SR worked for me quite well, and I eventually got to the point where I was able to discontinue it.

My depression returned recently, and I started on Welbutrin XL at 150 mg a day. I could tell the dosage was too low -- it just wasn't staving off the bad feelings -- so I asked to be upped to 300 mg.

300 mg was too much -- lots of anxiety, which I have NEVER experienced before. Unfortunately, I'd just gotten a 90-day supply of 300 mg. pills when I discovered this.

So I went to 300 mg. every other day. Why this works better for me than 150 a day I don't know. But it does.

The bad part -- I sometimes forget whether it's an "on" or "off" day and skip one when I should have taken it. When I do that, I can tell!
