I took all 3 of the MAO's many years ago, prior to Prozac being available.
Marplan was taken off the market while I was on it back in the early 1990's. Does anyone else remember this?
I wrote a letter to the manufacturor(Roche) at the time trying to plead my case to no avail. So I was tapered off of it and told that the other MAO's should work as well. They didn't and I went into a full blown relapse and stayed there for a good year and a half trying to find another drug that would help me function again.
I just lost track of it (Marplan)never hearing anything about it again but now hearing its available, wondering if it would work for me again. Perhaps I'll let my Pdoc know about it's availability. Does anyone know when it was rereleased?
I've been relatively stable for awhile now, but I would certainly try it again if necessary, although, the dietary restrictions were always a problem. I just would like to take one pill or two a day rather than the five I am now taking.
One pill a day is almost normal, taking five indicates I'm sick, dependent on the pills to keep me alive and functioning. There's alot more responsibility that goes into scheduling when to take each pill, making sure you have enough, getting approval for the Adderall, paying for them.
And there are still people that think depression is something you bring on yourself or use as an excuse for why you can't do things like everyone else. Yeah, like I would wish my life on my worse enemy. It may normal to the untrained eye but underneath it all there's alot of pain and struggle getting through some days.
Any info on the NEW Marplan would be appreciated. Both good and Bad feedback.
