Hey Ttime:
I'm glad that my run-down of my experiences can contribute to your on-going search for an "answer"! I think all of us here, with our different mental health issues are on that quest!
From what I see, having been a member of Babble for nearly 2 years, is that people come and go, getting successful treatment that sometimes stops working. Then they have to re-assess and try something different.
One thing I know for sure is, ALL of us are very strong! Because we all keep on trying. There is no "weakness" here. Stick around for a while, and you'll see what I mean. When you describe your life and your response to it, I can see the parallels to mine. I believe that there are basic temperament/personality types, which under the right conditions or with a certain brain chemistry evolve into moodd/affective disorders........for instance I would guess that you are a conscientious, goal-oriented, driven type of person, with an active mind. Wants to do his best for everyone. This personality, when exposed to continual (even low-level) stress, develops anxiety (and perhaps depression or Bipolar). It's like you get stuck in high gear.
I know what you mean about always living with some level of agitation. The churning brain, stomach, "buzzy" feeling that won't go away. The flashes of irritability as a result.
I'm glad you have great support from your wife and that your daughter will provide distraction and relaxation. I'm lucky that way too.Sounds like a good plan to try Trileptal, Scott is very knowledgeable and has definitely been around the block with mental health issues!!
If you read the posts above, you will see that, in giving you some info and supprt, I have received some from Kara and Scott!! This is how Babble works so well as community!!
I'm now re-visiting the soft-bi-polar dx myself. My next app't is mid-April, and I'm going prepared with all kinds of info!!!Good luck with your Pdoc and take care of yourself. Until you take care of yourself you can't take care of anyone else all that well :)
Regards
Jas
