Hi
If anyone can help me with this I would really appreciate it. I am not sure why my doc just prescribed me 5mg Abilify in addition to increasing my Remeron from 30mg generic to 45 SolTabs (which I did think was a good idea) my adderall from 40mg to 60 mg (also good) and my effexor is still at 300mg....i feel like a lab rat. She told me I have what sounded like "refactory depression?" does that sound at all like a real diagnosis or am I hard of hearing? I had not previously heard of it. After reading past posts on the "brain fog" and "dullness" that seems to accompany abilify, i am very hesitant to take it. I'm guessing she added it because I told her I feel nothing - a sort of lack of emotion - when I accomplish something which I know should make me feel some satisfaction. I have no feeling of anything positive but I do have lots of sadness and grief (which is how I felt before, now it is just more pronounced.) She said as an augment it (abilify) may "boost" me out of this depression. She also suggested that if this doesn't wotk I may think of a short hospital stay... since she upped the mg's of the remeron and changed me back to the remeron soltabs from the generic (3x the cost too...)should i just take that for a while before i start the abilify? I have lost so much of my mental sharpness and ability to recall and organize thoughts since this depression began 2 years ago and it would just make me more sad if that became even more of an issue. (i just spent about 3 minutes trying to think of a different word than "issue" but couldn't come up with it...and i got my BA in English writing....this really sucks sometimes. and that is the word i wanted to use. SUCKS.) Anyway, I have rec'd so much great insight from so many of you in the past i am anxious to hear what you think. If I do start the abilify it won't be until I've had a good 24 hours to do more research. Thanks again everyone.
