INteresting about others experience, i.e., sleep. I have been having trouble sleeping since I stopped taking the tranquilizers like Xanax and Klonapin. I won't go back on those if I can avoid it and I, too, asked my dr. about Ambien. She was very reluctant to prescribe it but after I pressed for reasons it seemed that she just wasn't as familiar with it as with the tranquilizers - I do hate that - she's so willing to prescribe very addictive tranq's over a sleep aid, when it's mainly insomnia that is the core of the problem. She finally gave me a prescription for the Ambien and I've used it a few nights to get caught up on sleep a bit and what I like is that the next day I don't feel groggy at all and don't feel that I'll require more than that. I also talked to a friend who has taken Ambien for years with no ill effects and doesn't feel she's needed more and more as you would with an addictive drug. I'm waiting another week before I reduce the Effexor 75mg to something lower. I'm so sick of all of it and the tingly feeling and cold feet and food not tasting good and the HBP and then taking meds for that which have their own side-effects. Urggg. I want to feel like dancing again.
