Effexor XR has caused me to teeth grind too, I don't have anxiety, so it is unlikely to be that. When I do it, it wakes my boyfriend up and he massages the top of my jaw (while I am sleeping) until I stop. Bless him. Other than that I haven't found anything that helps, but you can get a gum shield type thing from the dentist so that it doesn't damage your teeth.

In terms of the sleeping thing, the only thing I can suggest is changing the time of your dose. I find taking it in the morning is better, but everyone is different.
