I don't know. I think everyone is so different on these meds.

Both of my friends on Effexor have dropped some serious weight on it (but it's their first year on it, maybe the second year is when it starts to come back??).

I have some weight loss tips I just posted in the health section.. it works but it's more of a joke.

I managed to drop 25 pounds after the birth of my second son but it has taken me 2 years of slowly getting off.

I cut out cokes ( I was drinking 2 a day), watched my sugar intake, don't eat after 5 p.m., and I run 3 miles 4 days a week.

The running seemed to really boost my metabolism.

I occasionally get out the bike and take a long bike ride as well.

Oh another thing I did was switch over from coffee in the morning to green tea. It took me a while to adjust to the taste but now I like it. Plus green tea is supposed to boost the metabolism as well.

I eat a lot of plain yogurt with wheat germ.. I try to eat proteins for snacks: stringed cheese, almonds, etc..

That's things that have worked for me but sometimes, when it's medication related, even the strictest diet and the most disciplined exercise can be still almost impossible to lose it.

It's not always about will power.
