Guess what! It was still around in the 70's when I had my first panic attack. What worked for me was valium 5mg three times a day, and meprobamate 450mg once a day. I gave up the meprobamate by myself once my anxiety was under control. I don't remember how long it took. But, no side effects, and I felt great. Took care of 3 young children, volunteered in the schools, etc. And no, I wasn't "high" . I just felt good. Also drank alcohol when I wanted to which was probably on the weekends. Fondly, Phillipa
PS I want my meprobamate back! Then I can give up the SSRI's!
