I hope you get a slew of ideas from other posters. The only strategy that I can think of off the top of my head is to use small doses of Prozac as a sort of buffer.

I have thought to use Zyprexa, Neurontin, or even Klonopin in the past, but I never really had much of a problem coming off of Effexor when I tapered very slowly. Towards the end, I opened up the capsules and took smaller and smaller amounts whenever I felt the withdrawal syndrome returning. Don't let the manufacturer's dosage forms limit your creativity in tapering dosing.

I really hope other people contribute their ideas here. I think I'll make a list to hold on to.
