> Effexor is a strange drug indeed. For myself the first time around taking it back in 1999, I noticed it's effect almost immediately. I went up to 150 MG and noticed a significant decrease in anxiety and a decrease in irratibility and depression. I was also taking Depakote with it as a mood stabilizer. As for other meds before Effexor, I tried many other SSRI's and had absolute effect from them. Effexor being the only SNRI out there besides Cymbalta seemed to do the trick for me and I tried EVERYTHING before that. My advice to you is to stick in there at 150 MG for a couple of weeks at least to see if it kicks in as sometimes it is known to kick in a little later on some people. I wish you good luck buddy.

I must correct something.

It should have said......absolutely NO effect from them. Just wanted to clear that up.
