I can't shed any light on Risperdal, but I can say Zyprexa works well to erase delusions in Schiz. My son had couple of major ones and they disappeared in a few days. in addition Zoloft helps control some of the obsessive behavior as well as quelling anger and anxiety.
Abilify does work to control delusions but my son couldn't deal with it. It can contribute to the insomnia that often goes with Schiz., where Zyprexa if taken before bed has the additional benefit of helping one sleep peacefully. While taking Abilify my son said he had such hideous nightmares that he was afraid to fall asleep.
A woman in her 30's at the support group said she took her Abilify in the morning and was able to sleep OK at night. Just some extra input from Dan J. God Bless!
