In reply to How come I never had a response to Wellbutrin, posted by Eljakeo25 on November 2, 2004, at 18:31:07
I've been taking 300mg Wellbutrin SR (sometimes 450mg) for several months. By itself, Wellbutrin does jack-diddly-squat for me. I might as well take sugar pills. However, my pdoc tells me that Wellbutrin has a synergistic effect on SSRI and SNRI antidepressants. There may be something to it, because I did get a little relief when I started taking the Wellbutrin with Zoloft (and later with Cymbalta).
Oh, and another thing...NEVER cut the XR version of Wellbutrin in half (it's okay with regular and SR Wellbutrin). Doing so disables the time release and you end up getting a sudden massive dose of the drug in your system. It freaked me out so bad that I thought I was going to have a seizure or die.
