The only time that more Depakote seemed to help with panic was when I was having manic symptoms along with it (an anxious agitated mania). The manic/panic thing. They can fuel one another. However, when I'm 'normal' or depressed it (depakote) just makes me more flat and apathetic as you apparently are experiencing. The only substitute for clonazepam (i.e. a benzo) that really came close was Keppra. I slept great and found panic anxiety diminished greatly---but it made me very angry and I felt more depressed. Neurontin worked rather well-but I can't tolerate it either. Oddly enough, Stratterra had a panic blocking effect, but made me more jittery and nervous. It was weird. I traded panic anxiety for generalized anxiety!
