That's true. Cymbalta has been shown to help with pain.

I think that your doc has the right idea. Cymbalta affects both serotonin and norepinephrine and therefore might help your depression just as much as Effexor, but with more pain relief.

If for some reason the Cymbalta does not turn out to help as much as Effexor, you might want to discuss with your doc about returning to Effexor and adding Strattera to try to deal with the pain.
