Just yesterday, I decided I'd give Neurontin a try again to help me sleep, since I've been experiencing some anxiety over the past 3 days and was anticipating a bad night of insomnia. On 3 previous occasions I had tried this med but only at a 300 mg. dose. Last night I goofed and took 600 mg. I had a great night sleep but woke up blasted with drowsiness and slight dizziness. And I was still anxious in the morning; the neurontin had had no effect on it. So I took .5 mg Xanax and that surely helped. That's should say something about my one-time experiment. At bottom, I've found Neurontin to be great for insomnia (as a consequence of its side effects) and for certain kinds of pain.
