A side effect from my first ssri Prozac, was 'restless leg syndrome'. After that every ssri had that side effect of 'rls'. Never had it before ssri's. Bouncing legs, just a feeling that you have to move your legs. I keep trying to look on the bright side, maybe we're losing weight by doing all that jiggling. NOT. Not to mention how it drives people crazy!
you've been off your ssri for quite a while, i'm surprised you still have our irritating little 'habit'. The five months i was off ssri's the whole 'restless' thing went away pretty much completely.
you could do what i did, which is go to a sleep clinic in a hospital and be tested for 'rsl'. They will put a boatload of goop in your hair to attach electrodes to your brain (not inside!) they put a microphone next to your mouth a tube up your nose and pulse monitors on your wrist and finger. More electrodes on your chest for your heart and lungs, monitors on your legs for movement...and then, this is funny...they tell you to go to sleep! Not surprising in eight hours i fell asleep for about 20 minutes. Oh, i forgot to mention someone sits behind a one way glass mirror and films you on a camera. Never more comfortable in my life.
anyway, the point is that maybe you have just developed rls and it isn't related to the ssri as mine was? the sleep clinic could maybe tell you? hope this helps.
