SSRIs, akathesia

Hey! I've never gotten akathesia from an SSRI (I got it from Zyprexa, though), but I have read some about this. Usually discontinuation of the drug helps a lot or ends it. Is your akathesia worsened by stress or anxiety? At any rate, my "fix" was a beta blocker...propanolol. It also helps with anxiety. If I were you, I'd get a brand spankin new doc and lay it all out. I'm not a pro, but something tells me you should probably avoid SSRIs...they hit serotonin hard compared to, say, the tricyclics. The shrink should fix the akathesia, too...the way I see it, they hurt us, they damn well be able to fix us. Good luck!
