Important EFFEXOR questions

Hi there, im currently on 225 mg of it and have heard of people on much higher doses, is this because it doesnt work on certain chemicals until u reach 300? As im thinking of going up to 300, ive been feeling better buthad a drink relapse and now am pretty low again. Can you give me some advice please?
