Hello,

I was on respirdal at 5 mgs. and once had what is called a 'dystonic' reaction. If you have not been on this med for years it is more likely you are having dystonia as opposed to tardive dyskinesia. A dystonic reaction can be frightening. My jaw was clenching incoluntarily, my lips were puckering, and my legs became so rigid that I twisted an ankle trying to walk. However, after lowering to dose, all these symptoms went away.
