> We, the parents of our 16 yr old boy who has been on Zyprexa for 1 year, having not had a tolerance for Abilify are frustrated too. I would like to hear a bit more about Seroquel and Risperdal since we have not been exposed to these. The weight gain factor with Zyprexa is tough to deal with, but the medicine works. Abilify can have many side effects, while using it my son had headaches, insomnia, nausea with vomiting yuch! What are the alternatives though?
the following link may help slightly as a beginning to your quest...there are a lot of options and even more information out there...

i have been on risperdal for a short time, seroquel for a couple of years and am now trying geodon. each had troublesome side effects that some times go away (like nausea), that must be lived with (like weight gain), or that can be treated (like insomnia).
hope this helps a little.
